Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions
Can't find what you're looking for? Send us your query and our team will get back to you.
Ask a questionWhat types of clients do you work with?
We work with startups, MSMEs, retail and trading businesses, professionals and individuals, as well as NGOs and trusts. Our services include GST, corporate tax, audit, accounting, company law and FEMA compliance.
Can I work with you online, or do I have to visit the office?
You do not have to visit. We serve clients across India online. You can speak to us on phone or WhatsApp and share documents on WhatsApp, email or Google Drive, whichever you prefer. Our office in Faridabad is open Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Is my financial information kept confidential?
Yes. Your documents and details are used only for the work you have asked us to do and are not shared with anyone else.
How are your fees decided?
Fees depend on the service, the volume of work and how complex your case is. Tell us what you need and we will share the fee before we begin, so you know the cost upfront.
What documents are needed to file an income tax return?
Usually PAN, Aadhaar, Form 16 or salary slips, Form 26AS / AIS, bank statements and investment proofs. See the Document Checklist above for the full list, or message us and we will tell you exactly what applies to you.
Do I need to file an income tax return if my income is below the taxable limit?
Not always, but sometimes it is compulsory even when no tax is due, for example if you have foreign assets, large bank deposits or high-value expenses. A return is also useful for loans, visas and claiming refunds. Message us your details and we will tell you whether you must file.
Should I choose the old or the new tax regime?
It depends on your deductions. If you claim large deductions such as HRA, home loan interest and investments, the old regime can still win. If you claim very little, the new regime is usually cheaper. Read our guide in Insights, or ask us to compare both for your case.
Do I need to pay advance tax?
Generally, yes, if your estimated tax for the year after TDS is ₹10,000 or more. Advance tax is paid in instalments during the year, and interest applies if you pay less or pay late. Some taxpayers, such as senior citizens with no business income, are exempt. We can work out the amount for you.
I received an income tax notice. What should I do?
Do not ignore it, and note the reply deadline mentioned on it. Many notices are routine, such as a mismatch with your AIS or a request for details. Send us a copy and we will read it, tell you what it is about, and prepare the reply.
What is TDS and when do I need to deduct it?
TDS is tax that you deduct when making certain payments, such as salary, rent, contractor payments and professional fees, if they cross the prescribed limits. It has to be deposited with the government, normally by the 7th of the next month, and reported in quarterly returns. Late deduction or deposit attracts interest and fees.
Who needs a tax audit?
A business generally needs a tax audit when its turnover is above ₹1 crore, or above ₹10 crore if cash receipts and payments are within 5%. A professional generally needs one when gross receipts are above ₹50 lakh. Some presumptive taxation cases also trigger it. Share your numbers and we will confirm.
Is a statutory audit compulsory for every company and LLP?
Every company, even a small private company or one with no turnover, must have its accounts audited each year. An LLP needs an audit only if its turnover is above ₹40 lakh or its contribution is above ₹25 lakh.
Can you help with GST registration and monthly filing?
Yes. We handle new GST registration, monthly and quarterly return filing, reconciliation of purchase data and replies to GST notices.
Is GST registration compulsory for my business?
Registration is generally required once your turnover crosses the prescribed limit, which is lower for services than for goods and lower in some states. Some businesses, such as certain e-commerce sellers and those with specific inter-state supplies, must register regardless of turnover. Tell us what you sell and where, and we will confirm.
What should I do if I receive a GST notice?
Read the notice type and the reply date, and do not miss it. It could be a simple return mismatch or a more serious show cause notice. Send us the notice and your GST returns, and we will prepare the reply and represent you if needed.
Can I claim input tax credit on all my purchases?
No. Credit is generally allowed only if the invoice appears in your GSTR-2B, the goods or services are received, and the purchase is for business. Some items are blocked, such as certain personal-use goods. A monthly reconciliation avoids credit being reversed later.
Private Limited, LLP or proprietorship: which is better?
A Private Limited Company suits businesses planning to raise investment or grow fast. An LLP has lighter compliance and suits professionals and small family businesses. A proprietorship is the simplest but offers no limited liability. Our Insights article compares them, and we can recommend one for your case.
How long does company registration take?
It depends on how quickly documents are ready and on government processing. Contact us with your requirement and we will give you a realistic timeline.
What annual compliances does a company have to follow?
A company must file its financial statements and annual return with the ROC, get its accounts audited, hold the required board and general meetings, complete director KYC and file its income tax return, along with GST and TDS returns where applicable. These are due even if the company had no business during the year.
What do I need to do to send money abroad or receive foreign payments?
Payments to non-residents usually need Form 15CA and, in many cases, a CA's Form 15CB, and your bank will ask for supporting documents. Individuals sending money abroad also fall under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme. Contact us before you make the payment, so the documents and tax treatment are right.
